Introducing Red Hat Partner Subscriptions
Red Hat Partner Subscriptions, or simply Partner Subscriptions, enable Red Hat partners to grow their business with Red Hat by providing them with Red Hat software entitlements as a benefit of joining Red Hat Partner Connect. Eligible partners receive subscriptions worth thousands of dollars and include these benefits:
- Hundreds of entitlements - A single SKU provides access up to 500 self-support entitlements of all Red Hat product families. Mix and match as needed - on premise and/or any public cloud of your choice..
- Expanded use cases - Single- and multi-user software development, testing, internal training, demonstrations, proof of concepts, and more.
- Standard Support included - Qualified partners will receive complimentary Red Hat Standard support for five (5) partner contacts.
How do new Partner Subscriptions differ from traditional NFRs?
While versatile, the traditional Red Hat NFRs had some limitations. The new Partner Subscriptions build on the strengths of NFR as well as Red Hat Developer Subscriptions. Like the current NFRs, Partner Subscriptions cannot be resold or used for production. Here’s how Red Hat Partner Subscriptions compare with NFRs:
Table 1: Comparing NFRs with new Red Hat Partner Subscriptions
Partner Not-for-Resale subscriptions (NFR) | Red Hat Partner Subscriptions
Subscriptions | Multiple self-support SKUs (one per product) | One self-support SKU ( includes all products) |
On-premise only | Both on-premise and cloud-access
Varying entitlement quantities (depending on product) | 500 entitlements per SKU (mix & match)
Use cases | Test, demo, internal training, product certification | The same as NFRs plus single- and multi-user development. |
Support (paid Developer Subs w/ NFRs) | Developer support available for purchase | Free RH Standard Support for 5 contacts |
Multiple support SKUs by family | Two simplified support SKUs: Standard and Premium. All products included.

How do I access Red Hat Partner Subscriptions?
Red Hat partners who have signed a partner agreement will need to log in to Red Hat Partner Connect in order to manage existing and to request new Partner Subscriptions.
Employees at the partner company who will request and manage Partner Subscriptions must have (or set up) a user login as part of the partner company’s account on Red Hat Partner Connect. Instructions for setting up a login and joining an existing account are located here.
How do I manage my Partner Subscriptions?
Partner Subscriptions can be viewed and tracked from the requestor’s Red Hat Customer Portal account. Once a Partner Subscription request is approved, the contact will receive an email from the Red Hat Customer Portal with instructions on how to activate and download the software. At 30 days prior to the end of the subscription, Red Hat Partner Connect will send a renewal email describing how to easily renew the subscription for another year.
Best practice: Red Hat recommends that a single Red Hat Partner Subscription request is made for your company. With the new subscriptions supporting a larger set of nodes, multiple requests are unnecessary. We recommend having at least two Org Admins per team/department from your company so they can access and update software as needed. And add as many users as you like.
