Deliver hosted or managed services

Red Hat Cloud Service Providers are cloud, hosting, and managed service providers that host and provide certified Red Hat products along with their offerings. These partners have the capacity and knowledge to provide first-line customer support for Red Hat products running in their clouds—which in turn run on Red Hat–certified technology. By joining the Cloud module, you can officially market, sell, and support Red Hat software—and provide customers with flexible, adaptable open source software options.

Choose the best motion that aligns to your business model

Cloud Service Providers are required to certify their images, typically done through our partner program’s Build module. This allows partners to integrate Red Hat subscriptions into their managed service offerings. If your business model doesn’t involve hosting managed services, the Resell module allows you to purchase Red Hat subscriptions from an authorized distributor to resell directly to end customers (typically alongside professional services and/or your own software).

FAQ

What types of companies become Cloud Service Providers?

The typical partner that becomes a Cloud Service Provider is a managed service provider, cloud provider, hosting provider, outsourcer, or an independent software vendor providing Software-as-a-Service. Most companies that build, host, or deliver services for end customers involving Red Hat software—rather than just reselling the software for the customer to manage—could find success as a Cloud Service Provider.

How do I get started?

Become a Red Hat Partner: Register a new company or contact your organization administrator to join an existing company’s account.

  • Certify your technology: Verify your infrastructure, systems, and operational practices meet our standards for security, reliability, and support.
  • Train your support staff: Investing in technical support personnel is an important part of providing first-line support for hosted Red Hat products and solutions—and the certification requirements vary by the desired activity level of your organization as part of the Red Hat Partner Program. For example:
    • Ready tier partners are required to maintain 2 sales and 2 technical certifications.
    • Advanced tier partners are required to maintain 4 sales and 4 technical certifications.
    • Premier tier partners are required to maintain 6 sales and 6 technical certifications.

What are the benefits?

While becoming a Cloud Service Provider is the only official way to offer managed Red Hat products and solutions on your infrastructure, there are other benefits of a partnership. These include:

  • Red Hat enablement subscriptions
  • Co-branding opportunities
  • Invitations to partner events
  • Training and certification discounts
  • Rebates, incentives, and marketing plan assistance
  • Market development funding
  • Red Hat account management, marketing management, and solutions architecture support
  • Participation in the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog
