In a recent Gartner® Report (2021 Vendor Rating: IBM report), IBM received an overall positive rating primarily. We believe that rating is based on how Red Hat’s open Hybrid Cloud portfolio is able to help accelerate digital transformation and that SPVMs (sourcing, procurement and vendor management) can use this hybrid cloud strategy to deliver a flexible cloud experience.

One of the things that makes this portfolio strong, is our partner ecosystem, an ecosystem that has within it thousands of certified Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and countless pieces of tested and verified hardware. Partners drive Red Hat’s growth engine, making up more than 70% of the company’s bookings. So what you have is an evolving portfolio of cloud native technology that is specifically designed to deliver a scalable, modern IT environment. That design drives speed, stability and scalability.

In terms of SPVMs, sourcing is more strategic while procurement is more tactical and as such and having a robust portfolio of managed and self-managed cloud services offers an outstanding advantage to the SPVM. Another key advantage? Red Hat’s partner ecosystem.
